Federal Air Marshall Jobs Will Offer a Person an Exciting Career

Choosing a career as a Federal Air Marshall will not only be exciting but also fulfilling for a person. As an Air Marshall, a person will be trained to be able to identify and deter any wrongful acts pertaining to commercial airlines. Someone who is interested in this type of service will have a good feeling knowing that they are keeping people safe when they are flying home, flying to vacation sites, or when they are going somewhere on a business trip. Training
To be considered as a candidate for an air marshall position, a person will have to go through a thorough application process. The Federal Marshall Service will require a full background check, mental evaluation, good references, and a full assessment of physical capabilities for doing the job. If and when a person is accepted to be a part of FAMS, extensive training will be required. Training will last for fifteen weeks and has two phases. Training in the first phase will consist of completing an extensive police training program. During the second phase, the actual training to become an air marshall will take place. The second phase of training will consist of many different aspects including the study of not only American law but also international law. Training will also include how to maintain safety on board of an airplane and defensive procedures.
Benefits
There are many benefits to take advantage of once a person has been employed as a Federal Marshall. A marshall will get paid compensation based upon their performance in the line of duty. They have available to them thirteen paid days off during the year in case of illness. The government allows marshalls twenty six days of leave time. This time off will give a marshall time to recoup from their hectic schedule or time off in case of an emergency. The Federal Air Marshall Service offers an additional ten days off that a marshall will get paid for, which are considered holiday pay. An air marshall position with the federal government will also provide medical and life insurance plus retirement.
Federal Marshall's have increased in numbers since 911, to help stop similar terrorist attempts. The government is always in need of people who are qualified and want to fill the important shoes of an air marshall. Applying for a job in this field could mean the start to a great future.
