Party planning can be fun and exciting, but it can also be frustrating and time consuming. What may have started out as a labor of love can turn into just labor and you may vow never to do it again. Find out who is going to come, by compiling a guest list and sending out invitations as soon as you can. You need to include things like any food allergies people may have and let them know that they need to contact you as soon as possible, so you can plan for where it is going to be held, what kinds of foods are going to be served etc. There are many websites that have invitation templates that you can download for free and then print up as many as you like.
Now that you have your guest list, it is time to book a room and decide whether or not to hire a caterer. In some cases, you can combine the two, like holding the party at a pizza parlor or restaurant and have them do the food for you. Many of these places may even offer discounts if you have them serve the food. This too is something you have to do as early as possible. If the party is to be held around the holidays, or for special occasions like graduations, if you wait too long the facilities you want to rent may not be available.
Entertainment is also an important part of your party planning and this too has to be decided on and booked far in advance. A really good idea is to use a DJ to entertain your guests. They can play a variety of different music and some may even have karaoke systems so the guests can have even more fun, but it really depends on the type of party and the ages of your guests. Once this is all set up, you have but to set up the decorations and things like that.
