Baby Shower Decoration Ideas to Create an Exciting Event

Planning for a baby shower is an exciting activity that should be done with at least a pinch of thought and much enthusiasm. Your having the girls over and most importantly the mother-to-be to celebrate the fact that your friend or family member is on her way to giving birth to a beautiful little girl or boy.
One of the first things you will have to consider when drawing up the plans, is the decorating. You definitely need to go with the theme of pregnancy and babies, so something that is cute and fun is in order. Try to imagine how you and your guests will enjoy the party and with what atmosphere. It might already be apparent what sex the baby will be so you have an idea of color themes - that will give you a head start.
If you are really struggling for ideas though, this article is going to give you a few simple ideas to get you off the mark - you will find something to fit everyone's taste, and you will be well on the way to host a wonderful baby shower.
1.) If you are intending on serving food, which is highly likely, even if it is just nibbling - why not use milk bottles as condiments? Ketchup or Mayonnaise squeezed out of a milk bottle - very novel.
2.) You will definitely want a big fancy banner hung up with some words of congratulations such as "A Baby Bundle Is On The Way", "Pitter Patter of Babies Feet, Just Can't Wait until We Meet" or simply "Celebrating The Mommy-To-Be". It would be great if you could personalize it with the name of the Mother-To-Be.
3.) Another use for baby bottles is to use them as vases for bunches of fresh flowers in tune with the color theme. Not only will they look gorgeous but the sweet aroma will definitely be appreciated by the guests.
4.) Confetti is a great way to add color and decoration and can be very cheap - look out for ones in shapes of rubber ducks or booties for the full effect.
5.) No party is complete without some balloons! Choose pink for girls, blue for boys and yellow for the surprise baby! You could also choose from a huge variety of animated cartoon characters such as those from Sesame Street or Winnie-The-Pooh.
6.) Another really popular idea for decorating your baby shower is to hang a clothes line - perhaps above the dinner table or in front of the window. You could either hang up some diapers or cute baby clothing - pin cut-out letters to the garments for another way of displaying words of congratulations.
7.) You could make a non-alcoholic fruit punch for the mother-to-be. Take a baby bath and have a couple of rubber ducky's floating on top!
8.) Use the crib or stroller to put the gifts in both before and after being unwrapped - the mother-to-be can easily take everything away with her.
